Haochen Aluminium Foil Faced Rock Wool Blanket is a flexible rolled thermal and acoustic composite insulation material. It is manufactured with high‑purity basalt rock wool fibre as the core substrate, single‑side laminated with heavy‑duty flame‑retardant aluminium foil facing. The product is integrally formed on fully automated continuous production lines and supplied directly from our manufacturing plant as premium thermal insulation material. It combines the fire resistance, thermal insulation and noise reduction properties of the rock wool substrate with the vapour resistance, radiant heat reflection and anti‑corrosion protection features of the aluminium foil facing. Soft and pliable, easy to roll and cut on site with excellent installation adaptability. It is widely deployed for hot & cold thermal insulation, fire protection, noise reduction and moisture protection works for pipework, equipment tanks, steel‑framed buildings and ventilation ductwork.

1. Core Raw Materials & Structural Composition

1.1 Inner Rock Wool Substrate

Produced from natural basalt ore via high‑temperature melting and high‑speed centrifugal fibre drawing to form inorganic vitreous fibre, free from asbestos and other harmful impurities. The interlaced fluffy fibre structure delivers excellent resilience, enabling close conformity to curved and irregular components with minimal joint gaps. Standard thickness: 50mm–150mm; standard width: 600mm. The substrate features outstanding thermal insulation and acoustic absorption performance with Euroclass A1 non‑combustible classification. It has stable chemical properties, acid & alkali resistance and anti‑ageing performance. It will not pulverise, shrink or sag under prolonged high‑temperature and ambient‑temperature operating conditions, retaining consistent structural performance throughout its service life.

1.2 Surface Flame‑retardant Aluminium Foil Facing

Single‑side bonded dedicated flame‑retardant aluminium foil protective layer, available in embossed aluminium foil and glass‑fibre reinforced aluminium foil variants, balancing protective performance and installation practicability. Key functions:

  • Radiant Heat Reflection: Reflects more than 80% of radiant thermal energy, effectively cutting heat exchange losses and raising overall thermal insulation efficiency by roughly 30%, delivering prominent energy‑saving benefits;

  • Sealed Vapour Barrier: Forms a dense protective skin to block vapour, mist and moisture ingress into the rock wool core, completely preventing insulation failure caused by water absorption, caking and dampness. Suitable for demanding high‑humidity environments including exposed outdoor pipework, underground pipe networks and humid workshops;

  • Anti‑corrosion Protective Liner: Effectively isolates dust, oil fumes and corrosive gases attacking the rock wool substrate, fully safeguarding the insulation assembly and greatly extending the service life of pipe and equipment insulation systems;

  • Neat Surface Finish: Smooth and clean surface once installed, no additional protective coating required. Tidy edge finishing meets visual acceptance standards for building and industrial projects.

2. Key Performance Advantages

2.1 Euroclass A1 Non‑combustible, Reliable Fire Safety under High Temperatures

The full assembly is an inorganic non‑combustible insulation material. It will not ignite, propagate flame, drip molten slag or release toxic flue gases under direct fire exposure, fully complying with building and industrial fire codes. It is suitable for insulation in high‑risk fire zones including boiler houses, smoke extract ductwork, fire‑rated steel structures and high‑temperature chemical equipment. Its structure remains stable under high‑temperature service and resists collapse or damage.

2.2 Efficient Thermal Insulation, Energy Saving for Both Hot and Cold Service

Ultra‑low thermal conductivity retains heat within pipes and equipment in winter and blocks external high heat intrusion into tanks and ductwork in summer. It reduces operational energy consumption for HVAC and heating systems. Long‑term deployment substantially cuts equipment maintenance costs with stable energy‑saving performance.

2.3 Flexible for Simple Installation, Full Coverage of Irregular Components

Lightweight and pliable rolled blanket can be freely bent and wrapped to closely fit elbows, valves, circular tanks, curved ductwork and other irregular components with few insulation gaps and superior sealing. On‑site cutting is simple using a utility knife. Fast fixing can be completed with cable ties, insulation clips and wire mesh, shortening construction periods and lowering labour costs.

2.4 Porous Fibre for Acoustic Absorption & Vibration Damping, Improved Site Conditions

The fluffy porous fibre substrate efficiently absorbs airborne noise and equipment vibration noise, attenuating sound generated by operating industrial machinery and airflow transmission. It can be applied for noise control on industrial pipework and equipment, as well as wall and ceiling insulation for factory buildings, delivering combined thermal and acoustic performance.

2.5 Weather‑resistant & Anti‑ageing, Suitable for Diverse Demanding Environments

The inorganic mineral substrate withstands sharp temperature fluctuations; no cracking in freezing winter and no softening under high heat with stable physical performance. It also offers excellent vapour resistance and mild acid‑alkali corrosion resistance. It can be installed long‑term on exposed outdoor pipework, damp underground pipe networks and HVAC plant rooms, with a normal service life exceeding 15 years.

2.6 Green Inorganic Substrate, Safe & Non‑polluting

No harmful chemical additives are introduced during production. Free from asbestos, formaldehyde and benzene series substances. No pungent odour during installation and ready for commissioning once fitted. It meets environmental acceptance criteria for industrial workshops, commercial malls and public buildings, safe and eco‑friendly for a wide range of applications.

3. Main Application Sectors

  1. HVAC ventilation duct insulation: Wrapping hot and cold air ducts to prevent condensation, insulate heat and reduce noise, improving the operational efficiency of HVAC systems;

  2. Thermal & steam pipework and equipment tank insulation for industrial use: High‑temperature pipe insulation for power plants, chemical plants and boiler houses;

  3. Envelope insulation for steel‑framed factories: Lining for roof and wall assemblies to deliver integrated cold protection, thermal insulation, sound insulation and moisture resistance;

  4. Fire insulation for smoke extract ductwork: Meets mandatory fire resistance and thermal insulation acceptance requirements for smoke ventilation systems;

  5. Cold storage and low‑temperature equipment cold retention projects: Leveraging the vapour barrier feature of aluminium foil to prevent cold insulation failure caused by moisture ingress and guarantee stable operation of low‑temperature plant;

  6. Specialised noise and thermal insulation for ship machinery rooms and HVAC units.

4. Custom Specification Options (Haochen customises products to project requirements)

Standard thickness: 50mm, 60mm, 80mm, 100mm readily available from stock, non‑standard thickness can be custom manufactured; Standard width: 600mm as default; Aluminium foil types: Plain flame‑retardant aluminium foil, mesh‑reinforced aluminium foil, heavy‑duty wear‑resistant aluminium foil available for selection; Product density: Multiple grades from 60–120kg/m³. Lower density grades are lightweight and easy to install; higher density offers enhanced compressive strength and thermal insulation performance; Packaging: Sealed waterproof woven bags, rain and moisture resistant, suitable for full‑load long‑distance logistics transportation.
