Haochen Fibreglass-cloth Wrapped Rock Wool Board is custom-manufactured by a direct-source rock wool board producer. The base material can be high-purity basalt rock wool board or ordinary industrial mineral wool board. Fire-retardant E-glass fibreglass-cloth wrapping is available in single-sided, double-sided or six-sided full-encapsulation options. Combining Class A1 fire-resistant rock wool substrate and flexible protective fibreglass-cloth facing, the product delivers high-temperature resistance, tear resistance, zero fibre-debris shedding, breathable sound absorption and outdoor weather resistance, specially developed for industrial high-temperature equipment. Different from the closed vapour-barrier property of foil-faced rock wool board, it is the preferred insulation board for high-temperature pipelines, smoke exhaust systems, machine room sound absorption, industrial kilns, ships and high-temperature zones of steel-structure buildings. Full-range densities and thicknesses can be customised. All performance indicators comply with building thermal insulation and fire safety standards.
1. Dual-layer Structure
Core Material: Basalt Rock Wool Board / Ordinary Industrial Mineral Wool Board
Rock wool board is an inorganic fibrous material with tightly interwoven internal fibres and Class A1 non-combustible performance. High-density specifications of 80–180 kg/m³ are customisable. It features excellent compression resistance against collapse and resists pulverisation in long-term service, with stable and reliable basic performance in thermal insulation, fire proofing and sound absorption.
Outer Facing: Full-encapsulated Fire-retardant E-glass Fibreglass-cloth
Made of high-temperature resistant fire-retardant fibreglass fabric, it fully wraps the surfaces and edges of rock wool boards with firm bonding to prevent cracking and peeling. The facing features high-temperature endurance, flexible tear resistance, breathability with dust-blocking effect, anti-UV ageing and zero molten-slag dripping under fire. Two versions are optional: thin-type dust-proof fibreglass-cloth and heavy-duty high-strength wear-resistant fibreglass-cloth.
2. Nine Core Product Advantages
Overall Class A1 Fire Resistance with Higher Temperature Threshold
The whole board adopts inorganic non-combustible materials with Class A1 non-combustible rating. The rock wool substrate withstands temperatures above 750 °C, and fibreglass-cloth facing sustains continuous operating temperature up to 550 °C, greatly outperforming aluminium-foil facing which tends to soften and melt under high heat. It can be safely used for high-temperature smoke exhaust ducts, thermal equipment and kiln outer-wall applications. No toxic smoke or molten droplets are released during fire exposure for smooth fire safety acceptance.
Complete Prevention of Fibre Shedding for Clean & Safe Construction
Bare rock wool generates fine fibrous dust during cutting and installation, which irritates skin and respiratory tract. Fully-wrapped fibreglass-cloth tightly locks inner rock wool material. No fibre debris or flying lint occurs throughout cutting, handling and mounting. It enables safer construction in machine rooms, hospitals and workshops requiring clean environments, and avoids dust pollution during subsequent maintenance.
Flexible & Tear-resistant with Enhanced Mechanical Strength
Woven fibreglass-cloth possesses great toughness. It withstands handling impact, pipeline vibration pulling and stress induced by steel-structure deformation. Board corners are less prone to damage or delamination. Under outdoor sunshine, rain and frequent temperature alternation, its service life is far longer than bare rock wool board.
Breathable Structure for Dry-ventilated Working Conditions (Core Difference from Foil-faced Type)
Foil-faced rock wool forms a fully closed vapour barrier and blocks vapour penetration, while fibreglass-cloth wrapped board is equipped with micro-breathable pores. Suitable for high-temperature equipment and smoke exhaust ducts without heavy damp condensation risk. It prevents insulation failure caused by accumulated trace internal moisture and slows performance degradation during long-term service in dry conditions.
Superior Sound-absorbing Performance, Ideal for Acoustic Scenarios
Dual sound-absorbing structure composed of porous fibreglass-cloth surface and interlaced inner rock wool fibres achieves higher sound-absorption coefficient than foil-faced rock wool board. Widely applied for fan rooms, air conditioning machine rooms, underground parking garages, workshop acoustic walls and equipment noise reduction hoods to effectively lower noise from fans, motors and mechanical operation.
Outdoor Weather Resistance & Anti-UV Performance
Long-term outdoor sunlight exposure causes aluminium foil to oxidise, blacken and embrittle. Fibreglass-cloth is UV-resistant and keeps stable under wind and rain. It can be adopted for open-air steel-structure roof and outdoor pipeline insulation, delivering outstanding weather resistance and adapting to coastal light salt-fog environments.
Corrosion-resistant for Industrial Scenarios with Mild Acid & Alkali
Fibreglass features chemically inert property and resists weak-acid and weak-base erosion. Insulation on outer walls of equipment in chemical plants, smelting workshops and power plants will not be easily damaged by corrosive media. It brings no corrosion to carbon-steel or stainless-steel pipeline surfaces.
Convenient Construction, Flexible Cutting for Special-shaped Components
Flexible material supports easy cutting and fits elbows, reducing-size pipelines and irregular walls perfectly. Multiple installation methods including anchoring, bonding and strapping are available. Seal joints with fibreglass-cloth tape to complete assembly. No extra dust-proof protective layer is required, simplifying construction procedures and cutting labor costs.
3. Main Application Scenarios
Fire protection, HVAC & High-temperature Systems: Insulation for high-temperature sections of fire smoke exhaust ducts, thermal insulation for high-temperature ventilation ducts
Industrial Thermal Equipment: Thermal insulation for outer walls of boilers, steam pipelines, storage tanks and heat-exchange units
Noise Reduction & Acoustic Engineering: Sound absorption and noise reduction for fan rooms, pump houses, workshop acoustic walls and ceilings
Outdoor Steel-structure Buildings: Thermal insulation for open-air factory roofs and external walls, thermal isolation for outdoor pipelines
Special-purpose Scenarios: Thermal insulation for ship cabins, power plant and chemical plant facilities under mild acid-alkali conditions
Quiet Spaces in Public Buildings: Sound insulation and thermal insulation for inner walls of cinemas, studios and hospital machine rooms
