Haochen External Wall Rock Wool Board is a high-performance inorganic thermal insulation material manufactured from high-purity basalt and natural mineral rock via a complete refined production workflow. The manufacturing process comprises high-temperature melting, centrifugal fibreisation, pendulum fibre laying, constant-temperature curing, high-pressure densification and precision cutting. The finished board features evenly distributed fibres, dense internal structure and flat, straight board surfaces.
The material achieves Class A1 non-combustible fire performance, low thermal conductivity, high water repellency, stable mechanical properties and porous sound absorption. It is applicable to external wall thin-render insulation, non-transparent curtain wall cavity insulation, steel-structure external wall insulation and energy retrofitting of existing buildings, serving as a complementary material for building external wall thermal insulation and fire protection systems.
1. Raw Material Selection and Production Process
The product adopts high-purity basalt and natural bedrock as base materials. Raw material proportions are strictly controlled with limited dosage of slag and other auxiliary materials, to secure raw material purity at source and stabilise product quality across batches.
The fully automatic continuous production line carries out the full sequence of melting, fibreisation, fibre laying, curing, compaction and cutting. Finished boards have uniformly interlocked fibres, dense pore structures and low shot content. Fibre shedding during on-site installation is minimal, with excellent dimensional accuracy and structural integrity, suited to standardised panel layout and mechanised construction on site.
2. Class A1 Non-combustible – Fire Safety Assurance for Buildings
Made from purely inorganic fibres with no combustible organic constituents, the product complies with GB 8624 Class A1 non-combustibility and meets relevant specifications for fire safety of external wall insulation systems. It generates no molten droplets under high-temperature conditions, does not support combustion or flame propagation, and effectively restrains fire spread.
When assembled with wall substrates and external rendering layers, the boards form a continuous, enclosed fire-resistant assembly. Its non-combustible characteristic is intrinsic to the material, requiring no flame retardant additives. Performance remains stable over the service life, satisfying facade fire design requirements and fire acceptance inspections for projects.
3. Low-conductivity Insulation for Long-term Energy Saving and Temperature Control
The board’s three-dimensional porous fibre structure restricts convective air flow and solid heat conduction, reducing heat exchange through walls and mitigating energy loss caused by thermal bridging. Its thermal conductivity is stable and barely affected by seasonal or ambient temperature fluctuations, maintaining steady indoor temperatures and improving thermal comfort.
Over the building service life, the material reduces HVAC load and overall building energy consumption. For engineering applications, board thickness is selected in accordance with local climatic zone energy codes and wall thermal calculations to satisfy project energy-saving acceptance criteria.
4. High Water Repellency and Weather Resistance for Long-term Outdoor Service
The board undergoes hydrophobic modification, achieving water repellency ≥98%, with low short-term and long-term water absorption and robust waterproof and anti-permeation performance. It withstands complex outdoor conditions including rain erosion, cyclic temperature variation, freeze-thaw cycles and ultraviolet ageing.
When deployed long-term, the board resists water-induced softening, powdering, cracking and deformation; degradation of thermal and mechanical strength proceeds slowly. The complete external wall insulation system delivers reliable stability, with a service life matching that of the main building structure and reduced costs for later maintenance and refurbishment.
5. Reliable Mechanical Properties and Strong Construction Compatibility
Produced by high-pressure densification forming, the board achieves a balanced combination of rigidity and flexibility, with favourable values for perpendicular-to-face tensile strength and compressive strength. Finished boards have consistent specifications, uniform thickness and tight dimensional tolerances, compatible with mainstream external wall construction techniques and offering generous construction tolerance.
Thin-render insulation system: Pre-treated on both faces to deliver stable bonding. Used together with base render and alkali-resistant glass fibre mesh to form a crack-resistant, waterproof protective layer and lower risks of wall cracking and delamination.
Non-transparent curtain wall system: Installed with curtain wall framing and anchors to fill rear curtain wall cavities, delivering thermal insulation and fire stopping concurrently.
Steel-structure external wall / dry-hung system: Suitable for core sandwich and cavity-fill insulation of metal building envelopes.
Existing building retrofit projects: Flexible on-site cutting and layout; good adaptability to uneven substrates for convenient refurbishment works.
The board withstands tensile and compressive loads arising from rendering, mesh fixing, anchoring and top-coat application, minimising common external wall defects such as hollowing, delamination, cracking and detachment.
6. Porous Sound Absorption to Improve Indoor Acoustic Environment
Its fibrous porous structure absorbs and attenuates medium-to-high frequency external noise, lowering airborne sound transmission through walls and reducing external noise intrusion. Thermal insulation, fire protection and sound absorption can be completed in a single installation phase without additional acoustic layers. The product is ideal for roadside residences, industrial parks, commercial complexes and office buildings to enhance indoor comfort.
7. Inorganic Green Material for Low-carbon Building Compliance
Manufactured entirely from natural inorganic minerals with no organic fillers, the material releases no formaldehyde or volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The production process is environmentally benign; construction sites produce no irritating odour or hazardous dust, complying with relevant green building material specifications.
Safe for long-term use with no secondary pollution, it applies to green buildings, ultra-low energy buildings and energy-saving retrofitting projects.
