Haochen Lightweight Rock Wool Composite Panel is a mainstream prefabricated A1 non-combustible board for external wall thermal insulation. It adopts vertically orientated basalt rock wool strips as the core insulating core, clad on both sides with high-quality cement-based fibre mat facings. The vertical rock wool strips and facings are integrally cured and compression moulded by means of polyurethane bonding composite technology. Optimised with a lightweight formulation to reduce dead weight, the product retains the full fire resistance, thermal insulation and acoustic performance inherent to rock wool, while delivering dual benefits of low density and high compressive strength. It addresses common industry limitations of conventional rock wool slabs: excessive self-weight, insufficient compressive resistance, tendency to delaminate, detachment from substrates and labour-intensive on-site rendering works. Suitable for high-rise buildings, energy-saving retrofits of aged residential blocks, lightweight steel workshops and projects subject to load constraints, it is the preferred lightweight, energy-saving, fire-resistant thermal insulation material.

1. Three-layer Integrated Composite Structure (Polyurethane fully bonded, no delamination or shell separation)

  1. Top Layer: Cement-based fibre reinforced panelThe panel surface has high hardness, excellent flatness, built-in water repellent and crack-resistant properties with dense, stable structure. After installation, external coatings or decorative ceramic tiles may be applied directly, removing the need for on-site rendering and mesh levelling. This greatly simplifies site operations and effectively prevents cracking, sanding and hollowing of the wall finish.

  2. Core Layer: Lightweight, hydrophobic vertically orientated rock wool stripsManufactured from selected natural basalt ore melted and drawn into fibres at high temperature, it features vertically aligned fibre architecture, distinct from conventional horizontally orientated rock wool boards. Through polyurethane penetration composite technology, the rock wool strips bond firmly to the facings for enhanced structural integrity. Customisable density ranges from 100 to 140 kg/m³, achieving a 30% weight reduction compared with standard rock wool slabs. While maintaining low density and lightweight characteristics, compressive and tensile pull-off strength are improved; the board resists compressive deformation, delamination and fracture, delivering long-term stable thermal and fire performance. It also boasts outstanding hydrophobicity and moisture resistance, preventing sagging and loss of insulation performance caused by water absorption.

  3. Base Layer: Waterproof Reinforced Backing BoardA dedicated waterproof reinforced substrate that blocks moisture ingress from the wall assembly. Combined with the integral polyurethane composite process, the three layers bond tightly as a monolithic unit. It will not bulge, delaminate or detach over long service life, compatible with a wide range of complex external wall substrates.

3. Eight Core Advantages (Lightweight + high structural strength as key selling points)

  1. Ultra-lightweight with high compressive strength, reducing overall structural load (key feature)Using low-density formulation coupled with polyurethane integral composite manufacturing, the panel dead weight is substantially reduced whilst retaining excellent compressive strength, overcoming the weakness of lightweight materials prone to deformation and low compression resistance. It lessens the load on external walls and can be safely deployed for high-rise residential blocks, refurbishment of old buildings, large-span lightweight steel roofing and load-limited constructions. It can reduce reinforcement steel requirements by 5–10%, mitigating safety risks such as wall settlement and panel detachment, making it the material of choice for lightweight insulation projects.

  2. A1 fire safety, reliable performance for project handoverMade of naturally inorganic mineral raw materials, the full assembly achieves A1 non-combustible classification. It will not burn under high-temperature exposure, emits minimal smoke and releases no toxic or harmful fumes, effectively restricting flame spread. It acts as a core material for external wall fire barriers on high-rise buildings and meets fire safety requirements for public buildings including schools, hospitals and care centres, offering greater assurance for fire compliance acceptance.

  3. Combined thermal insulation and sound attenuationThe vertical porous fibre structure delivers low thermal conductivity, retaining indoor heat in winter and blocking external heat ingress in summer. It markedly cuts heating and air-conditioning energy consumption and satisfies national energy-saving standards. The fibrous cavities provide inherent sound absorption, offering noise reduction of ≥40dB to mitigate external sound transmission, ideal for noise control projects on roadside blocks, factory workshops and office buildings.

  4. Standardised dimensions and high-precision flatnessThis lightweight composite rock wool panel is precision manufactured as an integrated factory product with uniform, regular faces, eliminating warping, undulation and excessive dimensional tolerance found in traditional boards. Dimensional tolerances are strictly controlled: thickness tolerance ±2mm, length tolerance ±5mm, delivering superior surface flatness and consistent quality across batches. With regular formwork, extensive edge trimming and levelling on site are unnecessary. Panels fit closely with uniform joint gaps, improving installation accuracy and façade aesthetics, cutting rework and reducing labour and consumable costs for high-specification external wall render insulation projects.

  5. Vertical fibre structure with polyurethane composite, high pull-off resistance against detachmentConventional horizontally orientated rock wool boards suffer from easy delamination and low strength. This product adopts vertical fibre arrangement combined with full polyurethane penetration bonding, doubling the vertical tensile strength of the board. Interlayer bonding is robust, securing the panel firmly to wall substrates, fundamentally addressing common defects of insulation layer detachment, cracking and delamination on external walls and enhancing safety factors for high-rise façades.

  6. Eco-friendly, no hazardous substancesRaw materials sourced from natural basalt. No volatile hazardous substances such as formaldehyde or benzene are released during manufacture. Low-carbon and green, aligned with sustainable building material principles, safe for use in both public and civil projects.

  7. Flexible specifications, customised direct from manufacturerPanel thickness, density, length and width can all be tailored to construction drawings and project requirements. Standard specifications held in stock; large-scale project orders can be scheduled for stable production and prompt supply.

  8. Stable weathering performance, suited to harsh northern climatesFormulation optimised for severe northern conditions: bitter cold, high heat, rain, snow and frost cycles. It delivers outstanding frost resistance, waterproofing and anti-ageing properties, remaining crack-free and non-absorbent under long-term outdoor exposure with sustained insulation performance.

4. Main Application Scenarios

  1. External walls for civil buildings: external wall insulation and fire protection works for high-rise residential estates, villas and apartments;

  2. Energy-saving retrofits of aged residential blocks: façade renovation and insulation upgrades, especially suitable for load-restricted refurbishment projects;

  3. Public buildings: external wall insulation and fire barrier works for schools, hospitals, office blocks and shopping complexes;

  4. Industrial buildings: external wall and roof insulation and fire protection systems for steel-framed factories, warehouses and workshops;

  5. Prefabricated buildings, lightweight steel villas and curtain wall envelope thermal and acoustic insulation systems.
