Haochen metal roof polyurethane rock wool composite panel, also referred to as colour steel roof polyurethane rock wool composite panel, is widely known as high-strength polyurethane composite rock wool panel. Many clients confuse it with colour steel sandwich panels with polyurethane edge sealing, but these are two distinct products. This composite rock wool panel is faced on both sides with polyurethane-modified cement-based mortar paper, with vertically orientated rock wool strips forming its core. Its formulation and structure have undergone dedicated optimisation for outdoor load-bearing applications, including steel-structure factory roofs, flat workshop roofs and existing roof refurbishment projects. When compared with general-purpose rock wool composite panels designed for external walls, the product delivers upgraded outdoor performance in compression resistance, snow load resistance and rain durability.

1. Actual Internal Structure of the Panel

1.1 Core Material: Fabricated from Assembled Vertical Fibre Rock Wool Strips

Unlike conventional horizontally layered rock wool slabs available on the market, the entire insulation core is assembled from vertically orientated rock wool strips. The fibres stand perpendicular to the panel face, delivering outstanding vertical load-bearing capacity, which forms the core rationale for its “high-strength” designation. Once installed on roofs, the panel withstands long-term snow loading and wind vibration without compression, subsidence or structural collapse, eliminating common construction defects such as thinning, hollowing and delamination of roof insulation layers.

1.2 Double-Sided Facing: Polyurethane-Modified Cement-Based Mortar Paper

The top and bottom surfaces of the panel are laminated with polyurethane-modified cement-based mortar paper, with alkali-resistant glass fibre mesh embedded within the facings. A high-strength polyurethane bonding agent is adopted for integral composite curing. The dense cement matrix stabilises the panel structure and provides high rigidity alongside excellent impermeable waterproof performance. Polyurethane modification greatly improves the overall toughness of the board, preventing brittle cracking, powdering and dusting, while boosting edge impact resistance against physical damage.

The dual rigid protective facings fully encase the vertical fibre rock wool core to form a fully sealed waterproof structure, effectively blocking ingress of rainwater and moisture. It fundamentally eliminates the well-known drawbacks of traditional rock wool boards: water absorption, dampness, mould growth and pulverisation, significantly improving the outdoor weathering performance and long-term stability of roof insulation panels.

1.3 Integrated Forming Process

The panel is manufactured on fully automated production lines by high-pressure integral bonding. The facing layers adhere firmly to the rock wool core, resisting delamination and debonding, with clean, neat cut edges. Minimal dust is generated during on-site cutting, ensuring cleaner and more convenient site working conditions. The panel is fully inorganic in composition, containing no foam interlayers and no peripheral polyurethane foam edge sealing, delivering consistent and stable Euroclass A1 fire performance.

2. Core Product Advantages

2.1 Roof-Specific High Strength, Robust Load-Bearing & Anti-Deformation Performance

Benefiting from the vertical load-bearing characteristics of vertical fibre rock wool strips, the panel’s compression resistance, pedestrian load capacity and resistance to wind and snow loads far exceed standard rock wool boards. It can be safely laid over large-span steel structure roofs and rooftops requiring maintenance access, retaining stable structural integrity without long-term deformation.

2.2 Dual Waterproof Protection, Resists Moisture Absorption Under Rain and Freeze-Thaw

The sealed polyurethane cement-based facings form a dependable waterproof barrier with hydrophobicity exceeding 98%. It withstands winter freeze-thaw cycles in cold northern regions and summer exposure to intense solar radiation and heavy rainfall, fundamentally preventing internal condensation dripping and insulation performance failure within roof panels.

2.3 Euroclass A1 Pure Inorganic Fire Resistance, Meeting Factory Roof Fire Requirements

Basalt rock wool is a Euroclass A1 non-combustible inorganic material. It does not ignite, produce molten droplets or release toxic flue gases under high-temperature conditions, fully complying with fire safety specifications for roofs of warehouses, production workshops and industrial parks.

2.4 Combined Thermal and Acoustic Insulation, Optimising Working Conditions Within Factories

The dense fibre structure provides stable thermal insulation, blocking external heat ingress in summer and retaining indoor heat in winter, reducing factory heating and cooling energy consumption. The material also attenuates wind, rain and workshop machinery noise for effective acoustic performance.

2.5 Weather Resistant, Extended Service Life and Low Maintenance Requirement

The panel facings feature ultraviolet resistance and acid-alkali corrosion resistance, resisting cracking and peeling under cyclic seasonal temperature changes. Ordinary rock wool panels commonly degrade within 2–3 years, whereas this roof-grade panel delivers a longer service life and better whole-life cost efficiency for construction projects.

3. Application Scenarios

  1. Thermal insulation and fire protection works for flat roofs of steel-structure factories, warehouses and workshops

  2. Energy-saving refurbishment and insulation upgrading of aged factory roof systems

  3. Roof envelope insulation for auxiliary buildings on industrial park sites and light steel structures

  4. Roof insulation projects in cold, heavy-snow northern regions demanding high standards of panel strength, waterproofing and fire resistance

4. Supply Advantages from Haochen Original Manufacturer

  1. Haochen Insulation is a genuine manufacturer based in Langfang, equipped with complete automated rock wool composite production lines. Goods are sold direct from production without intermediate mark-ups. Panels are manufactured to full specified thickness with no material skimping, and raw material quality is fully controlled throughout production.

  2. We specialise in custom development and production of roof insulation panels. We are familiar with common roof defects including water ingress, subsidence and freeze cracking. We only produce compliant engineering-grade boards suited to harsh outdoor environments, and do not supply low-grade soft panels.

  3. Standard sizes are held in stock for stable bulk order fulfilment; mainstream thicknesses of 50mm, 75mm, 100mm and 120mm are permanently stocked for fast dispatch of urgent orders. Custom thickness, length and width can be manufactured to construction drawings for both small and large orders.

  4. Full after-sales technical support: free pre-sales material selection proposals, online installation guidance during construction, full logistics tracking during shipment. Our after-sales team can be contacted promptly to resolve any product-related issues upon delivery.
